 Who does not need a visa to visit Estonia?

Nationals of the member states of EU and EEA - Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Finland, France, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands, United Kingdom - or Switzerland are free to enter Estonia. Required travel document for them to enter Estonia is personal ID card or passport. The bases for their stay in Estonia is regulated by the Citizen of European Union Act (The text is available on the homepage of Estonian Legal Language Centre).
1. The holders of passports of the following countries do not need a visa to enter Estonia for stays of no more than three months in a 6 month period*:

* The section is based on the European Council Regulation No 539/2001 of 15 March 2001 listing the third countries whose nationals must be in possession of visas when crossing the external borders and those whose nationals are exempt from that requirement.
2. The holders of passport of South Africa can enter Estonia if they hold a visa for Latvia or Lithuania.
3. Holders of the diplomatic passports of Turkey and Ukraine do not need a visa.
4. Visitors arriving on cruise ships to Estonian ports from 1 May to 31 October 2005 will be able to enter Estonia for a period of 12 hours without a visa. The cruise ship must be stopping at an Estonian harbour for no more than 72 hours and the visitors must have a valid travel document recognised by Estonia. Tourist can disembark only if their name is on a list guaranteed by the ship’s Captain and previously presented to the Border Guard.
5. Citizens of countries NOT mentioned above require a visa to enter Estonia. | |
